Day 1:
One of our Roomsbook agents will welcome you at the Bandaranaika International Airport. Then we will take you to Suriya Resort, Negombo which is a 30 minutes’ drive from the airport.

Negombo offers one of the best beaches on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Dutch fort built in 1672, as well as centuries-old Portuguese and Dutch houses, administrative buildings, churches and the ceiling frescoes of St. Mary's Cathedral are worth seeing. There are local handicrafts, batiks and jewellery boutiques on the beaches and the shops. You can relax and enjoy strolling along the beach and making new friends and clicking pictures. Spend the night with a great meal combined with Sri Lankan Cuisine.

 

Day 2:
You will have breakfast at Suriya Resort, Negombo and start towards Sigiriya. You will reach Sigiri Access Villa by noon which is just 6 km away from Sigiriya Rock Fortress. There you can have lunch and get ready to climb Sigiriya rock around 3.00pm. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft.) high.

Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka. We will watch sunset on top of the rock.

Once we come down we reach the hotel Cinnamon Lodge Habaranafor a nice dinner and rest.

 

Day 3:
In the morning you can have a delicious meal as your breakfast at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana. Then you will go for a Morning Elephant Ride. Elephant rides are available near the Sigiriya Tank. Rides can vary on duration and usually include an exciting detour into the waters of the lake. Then you will have your lunch and after that in the evening we will take you for a Jeep Safari at Minneriya or Echo Park.

There are many national parks with great wildlife on offer and many have safari options. Minneriya and Kaudulla are neighbouring parks. The guides work out which one to take you to, based on where the elephants are located by that time.

After this great experience you will reach Cinnamon Lodge Habaranafor relaxing.

 

Day 4:
In the morning you will have your breakfast at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana. Then you will start towards Ritigala which is an ancient Buddhist monastery and mountain in Sri Lanka. The ruins and rock inscriptions of the monastery date back to 1st Century BCE. It is located 43 km away from the ancient monastic city of Anuradhapura. Ritigala Mountain range consists of four peaks of which the main and the highest peak at the south of the range is named “Ritigala Kanda”. Ritigala mountain range, a 3776-acre (1582 ha) Strict Nature Reserve, in the Dry Zone of Sri Lanka, is managed by the Department of Wildlife of Sri Lanka together with the Forest Department of Sri Lanka.

You will have your lunch and then you can join a Village Tour on a Bullock Cart. A bullock cart or ox cart is a two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicle pulled by oxen (draught cattle). It is a means of transportation used since ancient times in many parts of the world. They are still used today where modern vehicles are too expensive or the infrastructure does not favor them. Used especially for carrying goods, the bullock cart is pulled by one or several oxen (bullocks).

You will also enjoy a Boat Ride. After that you will reach Cinnamon Lodge Habarana for dinner and night stay.

 

Day 5:
After Breakfast at Cinnamon Lodge Habarana we take you to see Dambulla Cave Temple which is just 20km away. It is also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. Then start the journey towards Kandy. On the way to Kandy we will pass Matale and you will have your lunch at Spice Garden, Matale. Afterwards we reach Mariamman Hindu Temple. In the evening you reach Queens Hotel Kandy, for dinner and night stay.

 

Day 6:
You will be served with breakfast from Queens Hotel Kandy. Then we will start Kandy City Tour. It will include Temple of the tooth Relic, Kandy Lake, Peradeniya Botanical Garden and in the evening Cultural Dance show. Well, we will not to forget the shopping places in Kandy.

Temple of the tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. Royal Botanical garden, Peradeniya includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres. In the evening you will reach Queens Hotel Kandy for dinner after the dance show.

 

Day 7:
After having Breakfast at Queens Hotel Kandy, we take you to experience the activities in a tea plantation. There you will have the opportunity to taste variety of tea grown in Sri Lanka. Our next destination will be Pinnawala to watch Elephants at Elephant Orphanage. It is world’s first Elephant orphanage & is established in 1975 with 4 baby elephants, now it has more than 80 elephants. It’s a very interesting sight to watch them taking bath. Also you can feed the baby elephants.

There are also few interesting shopping place just for you which you can visit. By the end of the day you can rest at Elephant Bay Hotel and have dinner.

 

Day 8:
After taking Breakfast we will reach the airport.
Departure will take place according to your flight timings. We say “good bye” and wish for a safe flight!
