From 13th to 19th August, 2016

 

Day 1: 13th
With the welcome  at the Bandaranaike International Airport and we will take you to our first resting place, Goldi Sands Hotel, Negombo which is around 25 minutes drive. Goldi Sands Hotel is a popular choice amongst travelers in Negombo, whether exploring or just passing through.

Negombo offers one of the best beaches on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Dutch fort built in 1672, as well as centuries-old Portuguese and Dutch houses, administrative buildings, churches and the ceiling frescoes of St. Mary's Cathedral are worth seeing. There are local handicrafts, batiks and jewelry boutiques on the beaches and the shops. You can relax and enjoy strolling along the beach and making new friends and clicking pictures.

You can relax and enjoy and spend the night with a great meal combined with Sri Lankan Cuisine.

Day 2: 14th
You will have your breakfast at Goldi Sands Hotel, Negombo. Then you will start the journey towards Sigiriya. You can have your lunch at Sigiri Access Villa, just 6 km away from Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Around 3.00p.m we start to climb Sigiriya rock. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters (660 ft.) high.

Sigiriya today is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. It is one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning. It is the most visited historic site in Sri Lanka.

Dinner and night at Sorowwa Hotel.

Day 3: 15th
After Breakfast at Sorowwa Hotel we go to see Dambulla Cave Temple which is just 20km away. It is also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. Then we start the journey towards Kandy. On the way to Kandy we will pass Matale and you will have your lunch at Spice Garden, Matale. After we reach Mariamman Hindu Temple. In the evening you reach Senani Hotel, Kandy for dinner and night stay.

Day 4: 16th
You will be served with breakfast from Senani Hotel, Kandy. Then we start Kandy City Tour. It will include Temple of the tooth Relic, Kandy Lake, Peradeniya Botanical Garden and in the evening Cultural Dance Show.

Temple of the tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. Royal Botanical garden, Peradeniya includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees. Attached to it is the National Herbarium of Sri Lanka. The total area of the botanical garden is 147 acres.

In the evening you will gather to see the Kandy Esala Perahera. The purpose of the Kandy Esala Perahera Procession is to beseech blessings of the gods to obtain rain for the cultivation of crops and to enrich the lands of the kingdom. This ritual is performed by carrying the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha through the streets of the Kandy city which is done with exceptional panache. This is considered as one of the Most Beautiful Pageants in the Asia.

Day 5: 17th
After Breakfast at Senani Hotel, you can Enjoy the Kandy city, Go for shopping Walk alone the lake and spend time leisurely. If interested can watch the Kandy Procession again.

Day 6: 18th
After having breakfast we start the journey towards a Tea factory. Having the opportunity to see how the tea plantation works and how we receive great tea at our homes, we also let you taste some of the best flavors of tea. Afterwards we start towards Pinnawala to watch Elephants at Elephant Orphanage. While watching Elephants take bath we can enjoy the lunch. There are some interesting shopping items which you can check in this area according to your taste.

Last night of the journey you’ll be resting at Elephant Bay Hotel.

Day 7: 19th
After taking Breakfast we will reach the airport.
Departure will take place according to your flight timings. We say “good bye” and wish for a safe flight!
